ADM Iowa Falls is sitting at -55 over December futures this week. That's the weakest basis I've seen in about 3 years. I've got 15,000 bu sitting in the bin waiting but at $4.11 cash I can barely cover my operating. Anyone have intel on when basis might tighten? My neighbor says Cargill Eddyville is a bit better at -42.
Yeah we're seeing the same at Marshalltown. Carry is good right now though — December is carrying 25 cents over September so if you can wait, the board is telling you to hold.
Heartland Co-op in Roland has been running -48 the last couple days. Better than ADM. Might be worth the extra drive.
