Getting Started

What is FarmHub?

FarmHub is a technology platform built for American farmers. We help you save money through group buys on seed, fertilizer, and other inputs. We also provide grant discovery, real-time market prices, local weather, equipment listings, and a direct-to-consumer marketplace. Born in Iowa, serving all 50 states.

Is FarmHub free to use?

Yes. Creating an account and browsing the platform is completely free. You can view group buys, search grants, check market prices, and browse equipment listings at no cost. Some premium features may be introduced in the future, but the core platform will always be free for farmers.

How do I sign up?

Click the "Join Free" button in the top navigation. You will need to provide your name, email address, and a password. Once registered, you can set up your farm profile with details like your location, acreage, and primary crops.

Group Buys

How do group buys work?

Group buys let farmers pool their purchasing power to negotiate bulk pricing on inputs like seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and fuel. A group buy is created with a target quantity and price. As farmers commit, the price drops. Once the target is reached, the order is placed and everyone saves.

What is the minimum order for a group buy?

Minimum orders vary by product and supplier. Each group buy listing shows the minimum commitment required. Some group buys have per-farmer minimums (for example, 10 bags of seed), while others just need enough total commitments to hit the group target.

When do I pay?

You may be asked for a small refundable deposit when you commit to a group buy. The full payment is collected only after the group buy reaches its target and the order is confirmed. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.

What if the group buy target is not reached?

If a group buy does not reach its target by the deadline, the buy is cancelled and any deposits are fully refunded. You are never charged for a group buy that does not go through.

Grants

Are these grants real?

Yes. All grants listed on FarmHub come from verified sources including the USDA, state agriculture departments, and other government agencies. We compile publicly available information about programs like EQIP, CRP, Beginning Farmer programs, and more. We update the listings regularly to reflect current enrollment windows.

How do I apply for a grant?

FarmHub provides grant details, eligibility requirements, and links to the official application. Each grant listing includes a "Details and Apply" button that takes you to the relevant agency page or provides step-by-step instructions. For USDA programs, your local NRCS office is usually the best starting point.

Does FarmHub take a cut of grant money?

No. FarmHub does not take any percentage of grant funds. We are an information platform that helps you find and understand available programs. All grant money goes directly from the agency to you.

Equipment and Market

How do I list equipment for sale?

Log in to your FarmHub account, go to the Equipment section, and click "List Equipment." Fill in the details including title, description, price, condition, photos, and your location. Your listing will be visible to other farmers in your area and across the platform.

Is there a listing fee?

No. Listing equipment and market items on FarmHub is free. We want to make it as easy as possible for farmers to connect and trade.

How do I contact a seller?

Each listing includes a contact option. You can message the seller directly through the platform. For safety, we recommend meeting in public places and inspecting equipment in person before completing a transaction.

Weather and Prices

Where does the weather data come from?

Weather data is sourced from the National Weather Service (NWS) and other public weather APIs. We provide current conditions, forecasts, and agricultural-specific data like growing degree days and precipitation totals relevant to farming operations.

How often are market prices updated?

Market prices are updated daily when markets are open. We pull data from public commodity exchanges and USDA market reports. Grain bids from local elevators may update less frequently depending on the source.

Why does it say "demo data" on some pages?

During our initial rollout, some data feeds display sample or demonstration data while we finalize integrations with live data sources. These sections are clearly labeled. Live data is being connected on a rolling basis.

Account and Privacy

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion by contacting us at [email protected]. We will remove your personal data within 30 days of your request. Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law.

What data do you collect?

We collect the information you provide when you sign up (name, email, farm details) and basic usage data to improve the platform. We do not sell your data to third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
